Question

There are so many cute clothes in the AG catalog, has anyone found nice clothes anywhere else that aren't so much?

Thanks

I'm pretty spoiled to AG clothes; but since I like a lot of the retired outfits, I find a lot of my outfits on ebay. You can find a great many like-new condition things, but it takes a lot of patience to wait for the complete outfits to come along(I like mine to include the shoes, if any), and not to overbid. My mantra is:

THERE IS ALWAYS ANOTHER AUCTION!!

There are many talented board members that can be counted upon as "purveyors of fine crafts" when it comes to non-AG options.
Many of them give AG a run for their money, and many are 10 times better than AG!
Also, there are some great seamstresses selling thir stuff on ebay.
If you want some recommendations, please feel free to PM me.

One of my friends found a really cute outfit to fit her Kit at Build-A-Bear. Not sure if it was for the bear or their doll though, so if you go this route take your AG with you for a fitting.

I love going to little craft shows and festivals where they have hand-made AG clothing booths. A lot of them have a lot of really cute clothing, and many of them much cheaper than authentic AG items! Just yesterday, I went to Fort Hunter in PA where they were having Fort Hunter Day, and they had two AG stands, and one of them had some really adorable Girl Scout uniforms, both Brownie and Junior! I almost got the Junior uniform, but this is my last year in Junior Girl Scouts!

I buy from various sellers on eBay, tending toward those who make clothes in the Chatty Cathy style. I buy from various websites such as Necessary Extras, and I also buy clothes made for AG size dolls in dolls stores. I have also bought doll clothes from Target.
